THOUGHTS

In the midst of a busy senior season here in Aggieland, I jumped at the opportunity to explore some beautiful spots in Houston, Texas for Sydney and Chris’ spring engagement session. Sydney and I met through our Special Education degree program at Texas A&M University. I was thrilled when she reached out to me about photographing her wedding. It will be at the Farmhouse (aka one of my most favorite venues ever) early next year.

Sydney and Chris are high school sweethearts and have been together for almost seven years. They started off as best friends and eventually realized they were destined to be more. Chris proposed to Sydney last winter. Sydney had spent the day wrapping Christmas presents at home. When she came out to put them underneath the tree, Chris was waiting there on one knee. I had an at-home proposal myself, I can truly say how special it is to have that moment shared only between just the two of you.

These two were nothing but smiles the entire time we explored the McGovern Centennial Gardens and other parts of Hermann Park. To be quite honest, I’m quite lucky I even made it there after getting stuck on a traffic circle in downtown Houston. After almost 20 minutes not knowing how to escape, it is clear I am not built for city driving. But we all made it safe and sound and enjoyed what could only be described as the most idyllic spring day. Sunshine, low-70s, and a breeze. The gardens were a little busy – for the obvious perfect-day reasons. But Sydney and Chris are as easy going and friendly as can be. Thus, we were able to fit in lots of beautiful spots, including the coveted rose arches.

Then, at what I lovingly refer to as “Parking Lot P”. We got to capture some gorgeous, glowing Spanish moss as the sun set behind the city skyline. It was simply the best. Even though our soundtrack was these two random dudes boxing and grunting in the middle of the park. All in all, I think it’s clear to see that these two adore the heck out of each other. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.

Sydney and Chris are featured over on my portfolio because I just love this session so much!
