Truth is: I love my clients with my whole heart and I love to celebrate them and their stories. This blog is where that happens.

hello + welcome!

THOUGHTS

When I knew my July would be lucky enough to have a Moore Ranch wedding, I immediately started dreaming of the huge live oak trees they have on the property. Samantha found me through Instagram, and while I’m lucky enough to have amazing clients that refer me to their friends, I’m always excited to get a bride in my inbox that just happened to find me by chance. In a lot of little ways, our lives had connections. Samantha completed a Masters degree to become a Speech-Language Pathologist and my degree is in Special Education, meaning I have worked closely with several SLPs. Her now-husband, Aaron, is in the Army and my husband is in the Air Force. Just lots of little things that meant we were able to connect easily from the start and I was honored to document their day.

After moving out of College Station in May of this year, I was excited for the chance to go back and spend some time in the area I had come to call home. Since we had shot their engagement portraits at the ranch, I knew we were in for a treat with their wedding day. The girls were already there and having the best time when I arrived – and let me tell you, that is probably the single most educated room I’ve ever stood in, considering the majority of Samantha’s bridesmaids had all met in their SLP program. Samantha had lots of little touches specially planned throughout the day and I made it my mission to document each of them. Aaron had his own surprises in store and had flowers delivered to Samantha that morning.

The teeniest little ten minute storm rolled through right at the beginning of the ceremony – just enough to kill the humidity, give them some wedding day luck, and bring us the most incredible cotton-candy sunset. The ceremony was just as sweet as could be – Aaron could not stop crying out of pure love and joy for his bride. Their families were beyond excited for the two of them to join, and Samantha’s mom talked to me a lot about just how thrilled she was for Samantha to have found such an amazing guy like Aaron. After getting to know them through the wedding planning process, I can attest to what a deeply-rooted and loving relationship the two of them have. It’s an honor to be a part of days for couples like this.

The party went on for hours and was ended by the perfect sparkler exit: Samantha and Aaron having such a good time that they ran through the tunnel three times. Fun-loving and taking every opportunity to celebrate my love = my kind of people.
